Endgame had Marvel fans witnessing the end of an era. Emotions were high as the Avengers story drew to a close. Fans responded to the plot on Twitter. Warning! There will be serious spoilers!
Endgame allowed many characters to leave the franchise, making way for new blood. The most notable character was Iron Man, who began the Marvel universe so poetically, his demise was equally poetic through the ultimate sacrifice. There are various memes referencing his heroism. @_imbrooke_ shared a comical meme demonstrating how Tony stole the infinity stones from Thanos undetected.
@MeltyArts and @aqua_pooop__p posted emotive tweets, referring to moments where the superhero received closure with his loved ones including his father and Peter Parker. In @aqua_pooop__p’s post, the hashtag #ILoveYou300 refers to an iconic quote from the movie. It has emotional context between Stark and his daughter, while also symbolising the 3000 minute run time of the MCU at the end of phase 3.

Another comedic tweet was posted by @annaagranberg of #americasass referring to an ongoing joke in the movie between Captain America and the other Avengers
@reishfish shares another in joke by nodding to the scene where Captain America has to fight with his past self.
Although many of the twitter posts relay a positive response to the movie, @_gyuism posted a meme portraying the negative response to Thor’s character arch. In the movie the God of Thunder went through a depressive period and put on lots of weight. Many fans didn’t like the hero being ‘treated like a joke’.
Overall, the positive attributes of the movie evidently outweigh the negative ones. @TheDanielHDs meme sums the movie up well. Depicting Professor Hulk giving Ant Man a taco, the image shows that beyond tragedy and humour, Endgame is a story of friendship and overcoming hardships as a team.
